How to Increase Your Blog Traffic
Okay, so you have created a great blog, filled it with tons of great content
and maybe even monetized it so you can make money from your efforts - but how do you get people to visit your
blog? Read on for some simple, fast ways to begin increasing your blog traffic.
One of the best ways to get more blog traffic is by putting your URL address
in front of people who have an interest in the subject you are blogging about. Where do you think those
people might be hanging out online? Forums! People love to communicate with other likeminded people
online, and they usually do this in discussion forums. Most forums allow you to have a "signature" beneath
every post you make, and this is a great place to put a link to your blog and attract visitors.
You can also position yourself as an expert on your topic by writing short,
informative articles and submitting them to free directories for other webmasters to use. If your article is
good enough, it may even be picked up by an ezine editor and sent to hundreds or even thousands of their
subscribers. Some of those same articles can also be sent to publishers of related newsletters or ezines that
you hunt down yourself.
Do other blogs on your topic exist? If so, contact the owner and ask if
they would consider letting you be a "guest blogger" for one or more articles. You can even set up an article
swap, each of you helping to promote each other's blogs.
Another option is to search out blog directories and add yours.
There are some paid methods for promoting your blog too. Pay-per-click
programs like Google Adsense, for example. This option probably wouldn't be good for beginners because it's
easy to run up a big bill if you don't know what you're doing.
Whichever option(s) you choose, keep in mind that it can take time to build
up your blog traffic to a decent level. Keep working at it daily, keep adding great content regularly, and
you'll find that your efforts will eventually start to build some momentum.
